I decided after my big clear up the other day that my bed linen was all looking a bit tired and needed freshening up for Spring, so today I went shopping for new pillows and bought some plain fresh white cotton bed linen, that somehow wasn't quite enough though,so I whizzed up these pillow cases from some retro style cotton I had in my stash, plus some lovely silk cushion covers, also from stash.
Now I just want to go to bed!
(photos are not great, it's getting dark here already.)
Why oh why oh why do maternity jeans these days come with teeny tiny skimpy jersey panels that just ride down and only ever really fit ..well I dunno, who do they fit?
Sooo, anyway, I ripped off the rubbish one that was on these jeans and replaced it with a lovely comfy generous one with growing room too.
Yeah I know, I'm showing my age, but as I rapidly approach 40 (!!) my poor pregnant body needs comfort!
...but I can sew clothing! (Yes the long and frustrating case of the missing needleplate continues.)
So, for a limited time only there is ready to ship stock in my Tiddlybums store...
I woke up this morning, took one look around my bedroom/studio and wanted to cry! How did it get to be such a mess?
Matters were not helped when I then saw the beautiful studio here.
Still, it gave me the kick up the bum I needed to have a jolly good tidy up around here, and it actually feels lovely again...lets see how long I can keep it this way....
Looks like the fabric diet is over!
Three parcels from the fabulous Fabric Shack. One is missing, but hopefully will show up tomorrow, typically it's the one with fabric ordered especially for a customer. Rather embarrassingly these three other parcels contain fabric for me...well for baby really.
Lots of flannel, for nappies, and baby kimonos mostly, oh yes and pj's for me! I couldn't resist all the girly flannels even though we have no idea what sex this baby is. I have got a couple of gender neutral/more boyish ptterns in there too.
Today is a good day!
I guess no one would ever use me as an example of a good business woman. This is my fourth label design for my Zidee range. I just haven't really found anything I love yet.
I've just ordered a fat quarter of this label from Spoonflower, where I had my last lot of labels printed. Let's see how they turn out. No doubt I'll change my mind again in a few months!
I also couldn't resist ordering a few more fat qtrs of my dahlia stems design,. Spoonflower have now got fancy repeat options when you order, and after having a little play with them,I just had to order my blue dahlia in half step and mirror repeats, plus my original white dahlia stems in half step repeats. That's gonna save me so much time faffing about with photoshop like I usually do.
Right must put the credit card away *now*
Made myself a little bag this afternoon. I used this tutorial. The fabric is a scrap of japanese wool mix lined with blue/brown silk.
My knitting fits in perfectly..and yes that's going well too, after lots of false starts.
Sometimes it seems I'm too honest for my own good.
I have deleted yesterdays post after it was brought to my attention that some less than honest people might use the information to harm me or my business.
I just want to assure anyone reading that might be at all concerned that I have *always* had a policy of checking every piece of any( rare ) broken needles are accounted for. I would *never* send out any items to a customer if there was the slightest doubt, that the items were inferior in any way.
The podeagi photographed yesterday was made under special circumstances for a special customer who is aware of the recent problems I have been having with spare parts for my usual sewing machine.
I will not be completing any baby carriers until my usual machine is in full working order.
Now I just feel very sad that I've had to post this.

I meant to post this on Saturday, but upon opening the scanner I was greeted with shards of broken glass...I guess that happened when I caught Sid jumping up and down on it the other day!
This is a scan of a Valentine card I made for Woody waaaay back when we were first dating 16 years or so ago. It actually hangs in a frame above our PC next to a framed baby footprint. (India's).
I have been having a play with this image, and might possibly use it as inspiration for another project, just not entirely sure what yet.
Actually I've been rather grumpy and more than a little narky and dare I say bitchy lately, which my poor friend Mary would testify to, I'm sure...sorry Mary!
I know it's really rather pathetic, but I'm pretty certain I can put much of my mood down to *still* not having the new needleplate for my sewing machine...and I guess those pregnancy hormones don't help much either!
Talking of pregnancy hormones, I had to have a little cry yesterday when my "baby" boy had his first haircut.
(you can see before pics if you click on this one)
Time for breakfast I think.
... This will be the Zimmermann February Baby Sweater, it may not be completed until this baby is 21,but I'm not gonna give up, however tempting it might be! I've got as far as 4" into this, and each time managed to mess up and have to start again. I just can't see why I'm messing up,it's a simple pattern, yet my brain just wanders off and one wrong stitch here or there and the whole pattern is off. I try frogging back to the mistake, but each time get more confused and end up ripping out the whole thing in frustration!
I think I've said before how I'm simply not a natural knitter.
Maybe it's indicative of my general state of mind right now? The grey February skies are getting me down, and tragic as it is I'm really missing my sewing machine...the needleplate is on it's way from Sweden, I think it's coming on the back of a very slow reindeer (do they have reindeer in Sweden?)
I've actually had some energy today! I hope this continues. I've managed to clean out a chest of drawers and a cupboard,(does anyone know why my husband collects lightbulbs? I found 31, all sizes, shapes and fittings! ). And finally I ran up this quick stretchy wrap with pocket detail . The jersey I used isn't fantastic quality for a wrap, but should be fine for snuggling a newborn in summer.
I have enough to make a couple more as gifts too.
Righto, school run time....
(oh yeah and I'm still waiting for a new needle plate and having to make do with India's sewing machine.)
