Born into her Daddy's waiting hands and held against Mummy's breast on 22nd July 2009 at 4.54 am. 9lbs 3.5oz
Sadly slipped from this world at 10.55 am on the same day.
We loved her from the moment she was conceived and will miss her forever.
I've avoided posting an endless stream of bump shots throughout this pregnancy, but now at 39 weeks, with no brain power to focus on anything more than the impending arrival, I've finally given in.
I'm gonna miss my bump, but I'm ready now to have a baby in my arms, so come on baby!! ......
I was very brave, and got rather close to this beautiful moth, I held my breath that the shutter on the camera wouldn't make him fly...he has since crawled off down the side of my bed...eeek!

Hope these make up a little for lack of sewing pics...the sewing machines are actually under their dust covers for the first time in a very very long time.....
Yep, that's right, my baby is four today. We've had BBQ (at his request) and yummy chocolate cake, made by Daddy.
And just cos he's gorgeous...
I love the view from up here in my bedroom / work space. Hoping that soon I'll be admiring the view with a new baby at my breast.

The shoulder ties will need trimming once the fit has been decided.
I remembered to use my lamington labels on both dresses too.
And a lack of wrapping paper meant a bit of improvising, re usable gift bags, idea snaffled from Betz White.
I ran this up yesterday for a little girl I know who will be 4 on Saturday. I based it very vaguely on the sundress in Betz White's book Sewing Green....that means I looked at the pictures and skim read the instructions!
It's basically a version of the pillowcase dresses you can find instructions for all over the internet....except I used yardage as I have no luck at all finding pretty pillowcases in the charity shops around here, I do keep looking though.
I have another one cut out and ready to sew up later today, for another birthday girl.
Only problem I have is, and this shocked me to the core...I'm all out of ric rac!!!! How can that happen? I need to go emergency ric rac buying asap!
I planted lots of flowers in the garden a few weeks ago, and the bloomin slugs had a huge feast, so the colourful garden I had hoped for this summer is not going to be quite as colourful as planned.
Actually the whole garden is kinda untidy, it is a work in progress,but I guess I'm feeling kinda frustrated because I can't do much out there right now....I can't really do much of anything right now with this huge belly!
I do have plans though, plans that involve flowers,and I'm giving myself some deadlines too...probably not that sensible with baby no 5 on the way,but we'll see.....

I've cheated and bought ready to wear outfits for the children to wear to Heather's wedding...I think I should be let off since I am 36 weeks pregnant now!
The girls love their 50's style rose print cotton dresses, this pic was taken during a trying on session.
The boys have linen shorts and white ( what was I thinking? ) linen/cotton shirts.
I'll be hiding behind a sweet baby in a beautiful silk sling, who will probably be wearing this outfit.
I have yet to pursuade Woody into a store, and out of his think geek shirts. LOL
...making cushions and getting grumpy!
I think I may have mentioned before how much I dislike making home furnishings. I'm not at all sure why,but I really don't (usually) enjoy it.I think it might be because as the resident seamstress around here,it's one of my chores, y'know?
Anyhow, today I set myself the task of making up lots of cushions in an attempt to cosy up both my lounge and my bedroom ready for the arrival of this baby.
The cushions for the lounge are super simple pillow case style. One thing about having four children that I have learned is that there only lies frustration and anger ahead if I spend too long making something decorative, that they will inevitably end up using in a game of camping or house building,or gawd only knows what...best to keep things simple.
These ones though,I have kept upstairs. The fabrics are some of my faves from Cicada Studio, and I know looking at them while resting after the birth of this baby will both calm and inspire me...poor old Woody on the other hand is bewildered as to why we need "even more" cushions anywhere...I think it's a girl thing!
The bride came over today and before taking her dress home had one last try on,allowing me to take a couple of pics.
You have to imagine all the trimmings...seamed stockings,vintage jewellery,etc.
Oh and I'm not at all up to date with all this twittering stuff,but I got an email earlier from a good friend to tell me Craftster had twittered about the dress, how cool is that? I think it is anyway!
It's finished! I'll be relieved when it's out of my house and away from my four often sticky offspring,but I'm very happy with it, and just hope Heather is too...I think she is.
I didn't make this fab petticoat, but it totally makes the dress, and I want one to spin around the house in!!
Oh and I ran up a quickie buttercup bag to keep her lippy in, the corage is by A Alicia.
Probably not as many as this one has waiting for him/her!

I love coming home, even when the holiday was lovely, it's still good to get home to the grey rainy skies of Stockport.
We have just spent a glorious week at Hollins Hill Farm in Hereford, part of the Feather Down Farm Days holidays.
The setting was beautiful, the farmer, his wife and family including their newest arrival (only 5 weeks old ) were just lovely, and we are already planning a trip back there next year.
Bonnet knitted from a deck chair while watching the children play in the fields...bliss!
Yep, some more! Finished these off this morning. I think that's it for the soaker knitting for now.
How adorable are these? Arrived today from France, made by the lovely Jenni at Woollywraps, these have got to be my fave wool soakers ever.
Not much happening here on the creative front, I seem to have got to the part of my pregnancy where focusing on anything for longer than a few minutes is impossible, and all the energy I did have has gone and left me.
I should be packing for our family holiday right now for example, just can't seem to get up off my bum......
The dress is a little closer to completion. We did have a minor setback this morning when I accidentally cut into the lining and ended up replacing a whole lower front bodice panel. Thank goodness it was only the lining!
Next step is buttons and button holes. Then we need the petticoats before I can work on the hem.
I've been meaning to make some of these since Sid was a baby. Simple pull on soakers made from lush wool interlock.
They are very similiar in shape to the lovely Fleecycheeks my friend Angi used to make..totally unintentional, but I like that style. Of course Fleecycheeks were stuffable and these are not.
(The crease down the centre will dissapear once I wash and lanolise these.)
These are a medium size, just pondering how cute they'd be in a small.....
A wool interlock baby sleeping bag. Very stretchy wool with wrap front, finished with fold over elastic and labels. Super quick, and super effective...and the wool smells divine.
I've had such a lovely morning making a start on Heather's wedding dress. I'd got bored of fiddling about with toiles, but was slightly nervous of actually starting with the silk and lace. So glad I have now though, because so far (fingers crossed etc) it's coming together rather nicely.
Can't do any more today though because we need to do another fitting, and I've decisions to make re button holes.
The pattern calls for bound buttonholes, but I think that's almost certainly because it's a 1954 pattern, and I'm tempted to do machine buttonholes instead. I'll try both out on some scrap before I make any firm decisions. Got to cover all the buttons first anyhow.
Oh and before I go I have to just mention this cool video . After I posted the other day about washing all my flat nappies,this lovely lady left me a comment on flickr. Check out her other terry nappy pics too, they really made me smile, and judging by some of the comments left here they'll make a lot of you smile too.
