Silly Really

8:31 am

The silly little things that can reduce me to racking sobs, like the Camerons naming their new baby girl Florence.

Funny, because yesterday Eden had a massive strop because someone on TV suggested they might call her Eden. I wish they had.

Eden heard me crying and came to give me a big hug.

The Cameron's know what it is to lose a child, and I'm glad they have their new baby Florence safe and well.

Don't be shy, say hello!

  4. Like many others above, the moment I heard the Cameron's choice of name announced on the radio driving home from work yesterday, my thoughts went to you and your Florence. It isn't silly Jeanette. Truly.

    It's a beautiful name. xo

  5. I thought of you when I heard the news yesterday, Im glad you got a hug. ((x))
My Grans name is May Florence and when she was young she went into service for a Duke in London (aged just 13yrs). There was already a May working in the house so she was known as Florence (Flossie to her friends there); so the name has two special spots in my heart.

  7. It's not silly. I broke when someone blogged that they had 4 girls and now a new boy called Freddie.

When the Camerons had their baby, my first thought was "thank goodness it isn't a boy; they can't call it Freddie." I ached, so fresh from loss, through the election, watching them so happily pregnant.

And I'm sorry that what they chose will hurt you but like you, so glad that they have her. I faced what they lived with then lost for 6 years and my.. how glad I am for them to have some joy again.

Lots and lots of love. I've had you at the front of my head when I flick quickly past the story on the news about it. I can't bear to look any more than you probably can.

  8. I hadn't heard. I can just imagine how you felt. I know I'd feel the same way. I know a few Hopes from school and whenever I see their names crop up around FB and the likes, my heart skips a beat.

  9. Thank you everyone. I am truly happy for the Camerons. I've been willing them on through this pregnancy after their sad loss last year. They have given their daughter a beautiful name.

Anne, honey if you wanted to call your precious rainbow Florence, I wouldn't mind one bit. I love the names Beatrice and Dorothy too. x

  12. No not silly at all. I was furious at the suggestion that one of my friends might name her unborn daughter Iris (she didn't in the end).

    Love to you x

  13. (((HUGS))) Jeanette. It doesn't seem silly at all to me. My daughter had a little playmate called Florence but even so my strongest association is with your precious girl.

  17. Yet another who thought of you when she heard and I also don't think it's silly. This year my brother named his first baby the same name I gave the baby I lost although he doesn't know that, and it broke me for a little while too. I am dreading spending 6 weeks with them all at Christmas and having to say and hear her name every single day of that time.
